A road bike holiday in South Tyrol is as varied as the land itself. Road cyclists looking for a leisure tour, find perfect conditions and tours in the valley between Trento and Merano. High-altitude roads and easy pass roads like Mendola and Gampen Pass are ideal for experienced road bike fans, and professionals can try the Stelvio Pass road - with 2758 m of altitude the highest crossing of the Alps - or participate at the “Maratona dles Dolomites”, a road bike marathon over the most beautiful Dolomite passes.
The first training sessions between Merano and Trento are possible in March already. Cycling is possible until the end of November.
When it gets too hot in the valley in summer, you can cycle on the surrounding mountain roads. There are plenty of roads at altitudes of 1000 metres and more. Especially popular are tours to Mendola and Gampen pass, Monzoccolo, to Nova Ponente and to Val di Fiemme.
